School project: runningonsunshine 2013-01-01

High-school project with Timmy Malmgren, ...

At the time of writing a working copy of the site is still running here: runningonsunshine.undul.at.

The project consisted of creating a website that visualizes the energy produced by a solar installation and associated electric car renting service owned by the municipalitiy's main energy company Öresundskraft.

The website uses live data on the current power produced by the solar cells exposed to the internet. The data is visualized in different ways to explain and differentiate between instantaneous power and energy, compare the efficiency between ICE vehicles and electric vehicles and CO2 emissions. A source of inspiration was the infographics trend at the time.

Splash page welcoming the visitor Page showing how much power the panels are generating at the moment and what you can power with that energy Page showing how long you can power things given one hour of the current power from the panels The distance you can drive an electric car given the current power times 6h Comparing the CO2 emissions between petrol, electric grid and solar power
